Living here in Vienna has been difficult but after being here for 25 days I am really growing to appreciate it. I have been living basically on my own and having to handle buying groceries, keeping a budget, and making the 30 minute trip to school every day. These new responsibilities have really shown me how much I am ready to be on my own. Maybe not completely on my own but at least completely out of the house. Ever since I started college I have been in this very awkward point in my life where I do not know if I am an adult or if I am a child still. But here in Vienna it is clear that I am an adult and that I am responsible for making everything happen. I do not have anyone I have to answer to but that also means that I do not have anyone to fall back on. Sometimes I have missed having dinner made for me or money for food but other than that I really like how I feel while I am here. I feel like I can go out into the real world and take care of myself. Like I will be an adult that will make the right choices and make a great life, which I have never felt before.
However, feeling this way now is going to make going home harder, especially now that I will be living at home for 4 months. I love being home and being with my family, I really do, but being home for four months after being on your own for three is going to be hard. I still have to get the whole job situation all sorted out too. . . ugh.
I don't know what is going to happen or how it is going to be but, what I do know is that I will be glad to be back on US soil and I will getting some hardy breakfast food (i.e. bacon, french toast, and scrambled eggs)!
