Erika and I went over to Kerri's house on Friday night because the rest of the group was going to an expensive looking club and Kerri and Erika do not dance. ( I do but I was not going to spend a lot of money to do it.) So, we left our place at about 9:10 ish, hopped on the 38 bus to the underground and met up with Kerri there. We walked the 10 minute walk to her house and talked the night away. It was really nice just sitting and getting to know each other but, Erika and I got tired and had never used the night bus system before so we left at 12:45 ish. We had looked up what night bus would take us home and which stop to get of the underground to get there, so I felt pretty confident that it was going to be an easy trip. Ohhhhhh how wrong I was.
We got off of the underground and I swear there was 20 different bus stops so it took us a bit to find ours. We eventually did but, the sign said that the bus came at 1:09 and then 1:39 and of course we got there at 1:17. So we stood out there in the windy, freezing night and waited until 1:39 . . . and then 1:50. . . 2:00. . . 2:15 . . . NO NIGHT BUS!!!!! We were so pissed!!

We went back into the underground and tried to find a different way home. I thought that I had found another way, so we hopped back on to the underground and headed to another station that was closer to our place but, of course, there was no stop. Thankfully we found a guy who was not totally wasted and he told us how to get home. It was really funny though because I asked him if he spoke English and he just goes "Naturally." lol It might have been that I was really tired, cold, and frustrated but it was really funny to me.
Any who, we hopped back on to the underground, went to a completely different track, followed that for a little bit and got off at the stop the guy said. We left the building and looked at all of the signs out side of the building. . . NONE of them were the stop we needed. AHHH So, we asked another man, looked to be a baker and NOT drunk, but he spoke very little English and had NO idea how to tell us to get home. Luckily, another man was walking past just as we asked the baker-looking man and he simply pointed across the street and said "there." AND THERE IT WAS!!!! It had a mechanical sign that had the bus number, final destination, and time until the next bus ALL printed out for us. So we waited for 15 minutes for the bus, which ACTUALLY CAME!!! I do not think that I have ever been so happy to see a bus in my entire life! After hopping on that and walking home, we made it in the door by 4 am.
In case you were not paying attention. . . that means we were out in the cold for 3 HOURS!!!! Oh the joy of night time traveling. I am hoping that this will not scar me so much so that I will not stay out past 11:30, but only time will tell. Bis Später!
